It was January 2020 when I met Benjamin. Things seemed too good to be true. I instantly felt that we had a connection. He knew when I was upset without me saying a single word, and I could feel the hole in his heart that needed filled with love. Our hearts were both still aching from the past, but we decided to take a chance on each other. For our first date, he took me roller skating. The night was adventurous as we tried to figure out how to make it there while navigating the one-way roads and avoiding hitting curbs from being so nervous. I know I embarrassed myself a few times falling at the skating rink and laughing way too loud. It didn't take us long before we figured out that we wanted to be together. By the 2nd of February, we were officially dating, and that following January, he asked me to be his wife. He rented out the skating rink where we had our first date and proposed to me in front of both of our families. Of course, I said yes! We decided to not hold back as we planned our dream wedding getaway. September 20th, 2021, we rented out a beach house in Gulf Shores, AL and had the most beautiful wedding ceremony and reception with our family and friends. It's now nearing the end of 2021 and we are happier, healthier, and more in love than ever. We encourage each other, build each other up, and never fail to express how we are feeling. I no longer feel an ache in my heart; instead, it is full of love and acceptance. I know that I have found the one who I will spend the rest of my life with.
