Cameron and I met at SIUC in 2018 when we were both working as photojournalists at the Daily Egyptian Newspaper.
I knew he was the one when he would drive more hours to see me than he would actually get to spend with me. He also quickly became my best friend and he always included me in on his plans even if I was the only girl there.
When Cameron first came to Ramsey to my parents house I showed him two of my favorite spots on my families land, one of those spots being a beautiful crystal clear stream we used to play at as kids. In April of 2021 we came home to hunt and after an intense morning of Turkey hunting where I missed a Turkey at 10 yards (whoops.. at least it’s a funny story) Cameron shot a Turkey, came back and told me we needed to go mushroom hunting” where we went to the creek and he proposed at a place he knew I loved with our families hiding in the bushes. Cameron and I got married at the other spot on my families land that I love. The spot is on a hill that overlooks the Kaskaskia river bottom and it’s beautiful. Our ceremony and reception were absolutely perfect and everything Cameron and I could have dreamed about."
