Alex is a one-of-a-kind man. He’s extremely loyal, dedicated, hard-working, caring, and funny. He constantly goes out of his way to help others and do what’s right. These characteristics were present when he was 16 and are still true to this day. It wasn’t long before I realized that Alex was exceptional and more than just a high school relationship.
One of our weekend traditions includes walking the Trec Trail with our dog, Murphy. We typically try to take different trails, but on this day, Alex was adamant about taking the same trail we had walked the day before. I thought this was odd, but I went along with it. (Later, I found out that he was going to propose the day earlier and chickened out.) When we got to the Switchback’s bridge, Alex got down on one knee, Alex popped the question, Murphy got excited (so did I), and I said, “Yes!”
